A Taste of Culture
A Taste of Culture is a cooking simulator based on promoting the diversity of cultures through food. Work with mentors to make culturally significant dishes to learn about the culture and your mentor as you go through the steps with a high degree of control. A Taste of Culture has been apart of a push at Rochester Institute of Technology to push for diversity inclusion as well as was funded by the Magic Spell Studios at RIT.
Project Evolution
While a taste of culture started in one of our graduate courses, with the help and funding of RIT’s Magic Spell Studios, we were able to flesh out our game even more so, creating our second level and adding more life to the first level. From there, we have worked on it here and there, and even entered as a session for Together RIT, where we presented and publicly allowed people to play the demo of our game to show off the importance and use of games as a media for diversity. Through out this process, taking a game from a classroom environment, to a professional environment and even interfacing with the community, we learned a lot and were able to hone our skills as a team and as individuals.
